On June 29, 2017, a Black male entered the Suntrust Bank located at 5420 W. Fayetteville Road, College Park, Georgia. The suspect originally stated that he wanted to open a bank account. The victim banker brought the suspect to her desk. The suspect then stated he was there to rob the bank and that he had a gun. The suspect wanted the banker to go behind the teller line to get money, but the banker did not comply. The suspect then asked the banker if they keep $10,000 behind the line. The suspect stood up, looked at the teller line and asked if it was a bullet proof window. The banker replied yes. The suspect then told the banker to act like it didn’t happen and the suspect exited the bank. The suspect was described as having dreadlocks and a beard, along with wearing an orange vest, army brown boots and gloves.

On July 3, 2017, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Dawson Police Department notified the FBI of a bank robbery at OneSouth Bank, 917 Forrester Drive SE, Dawson, Georgia 39842. Investigation revealed that at approximately 9:30 a.m., an unidentified Black male wearing an orange construction-style reflective vest, what appeared to be a fake beard, what appeared to be fake dread locks style hair, and carrying a black backpack entered the bank, presented a handgun, and demanded both tellers empty their drawers. The unidentified male demanded the two tellers place the money from their drawers into his backpack.
